CIS tupples are different from his card, and I adjusted config indices to the card I got, but I received only error messages "fe0: cannot empty receive buffer" and "fe0: transmission timeout (1+0)". If you have this card, please send report to me! *2 These cards are supported by 2.2.x only. *3 Some cards or laptops needs modifications to /etc/pccard.conf, and some combinations of cards and laptops do not work. In some machine you must change irq 15 in a card using wdc driver. *4 But, there are also some reports that US Robotics Modem(WinModem type) cards can't be used with this package. These cards are recognized as following CIS tuple. pccardd[40]: Card "USRobotics"("Sportster Winmodem PC Card") For example, HiNote Ultra 2000 inner modem ... *5 This CD-ROM has PCIC in it, so it can't be hotplugged. *6 Currently, no client application software is available. *7 DC-1P (OEM by Panasonic) works, but DC-1S (OEM by Sharp) has many problems. To use DC-1S, you have to add COM_MULTIPORT option on kernel config file, and even if it works, the performance is very poor. *8 These CD-ROM drives use non-standard SCSI CD-ROM driver (maybe it controls power management system) even on Windows. Many users reported that it sometimes fails to be probed. If you have this problem, (1) turn off the power of the drive before you plug the card into the machine, and turn on the power as soon as you plug it, or (2) re-initializa the drive from Windows. *9 There's a buggy revision of this card which has broken CIS tupples. if you can't use this card, please use the point enabler. (for example, type "pccardc enabler 0 stg0 -a 0x4140 -i 5" from root command prompt) *10 Pre-alpha status *11 In PC-INS128, buffer size in sio.c must be increased to 1024 from 256 because a buffer is over flow. #define RS_IBUFSIZE 1024 *12 It's necessery changing /etc/pccard.conf to recognize a card. # Telecom Device SuperSocket RE450T card "Ethernet" "Adapter" config 0x3 "ed0" any # There's another minor revision of this card that has no MAC address in # CIS tupple. This revision does not require "ether" definition. If you # have it, please comment out the following line. # ether 0x110 00:e0:98 <--- Comment out this line. Thus, recently, these cards isn't available from PAO-install floppy. In the case of ftp install, you install FreeBSD+PAO using another ether card , and change /etc/pccard.conf. *13 These cards work with a patch to pao225. In PAO-current, already includes. *14 The driver for Ninja SCSI-3 is available to the public from WORKBIT Corporation. In pao228, already includes. These cards can be used even before pao228 if the driver is installed. http://www.workbit.co.jp/workbit/products/driver/sc3-unix.html *15 AdHoc mode only. Infrastructure mode (with base station) will not work. http://www.cas.trans-nt.com/~cas/ux/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Following cards isn't supported or support schedule doesn't exist. NinjaATA isn't available. VAIO505 original CDROM CDNoteWorthy5009A(Libretto original CDROM) Usually, a card saled as modem for Windows only, a HSP or DSP modem card isn't available. We can't write codes because data spec in cards isn't opened. USRobotics WinModem HiNote Ultra 2000 inner modem. If you have some of them, please test new driver and send your result with your pccard.conf to PAO release manager (hosokawa@jp.FreeBSD.org).
